I love vintage mirrors. I use them throughout my home for both looking glasses and artwork.

Just as vintage frames can be used as artwork, so can vintage mirrors. They look lovely in groupings – collages, layered, and in vignettes.

Often times you can pick up these mirrors for next to nothing at flea markets and yard sales, especially if you’re not concerned with the finish. I personally love the look of the silvering (the coating on the back) when it’s distressed or worn, although these mirrors are better suited to decorating rather than for use as an actual mirror.
One of my favorite uses is in the bathroom. Create a one of a kind look by selecting one special mirror to hang over your vanity. Make sure it’s the correct scale and in proportion with the vanity and rest of the room. (If hanging a fairly large mirror, ensure it’s securely hung using a wall stud.)
Here’s are some great examples of how vintage mirrors can be used in a bathroom.
